Membership Benefits

As a member of the Knights of Columbus you and your family enjoy many benefits, including 12 free issues annually of Columbia magazine, the world's largest Catholic family magazine, eligibility to join the Knights of Columbus top-ranked life insurance program, and many more family and personal benefits.  

You may choose to join Knights of Columbus online and be a member of the State of Michigan council and then later join a local council, like Council 2141 or signup for Council 2141.

Join Today!  An online method of joining the Knights of Columbus.  You can join KofC online and be a member of State of Michigan KofC to start.  Later you may join a local council, such as Council 2141, or join Council 2141 to start - see below.


Members who join online will receive the following:

"Welcome Package – All new members will receive a Welcome Package (contents include membership card, Columbia, welcome letter, and copy of Into the Breach).

Access to Online Membership Portal – All new members will receive full access to the Online Membership portal and all of its faith, values, insurance, and charitable content, as well as Supreme Council and State Council news and events content.

Membership Communications – Members will receive weekly emails from the Supreme Council on a variety of topics, including faith formation, public policy developments, charitable opportunities, financial planning, Order-wide news, and membership events.

Programs & Events – Members will be eligible to participate in or attend local, regional, and national charitable and fraternal events.

Columbia Magazine – Members will receive the print edition of our monthly magazine, as well as any special fraternal publications produced throughout the year.

Insurance – Members, their spouses, and their dependent children are eligible to purchase our life insurance, long- term care insurance, disability income insurance, and retirement products.

Accidental Death Coverage – Eligible members and their spouses will be automatically enrolled in the Order’s accidental death coverage at no cost.

Annual Financial Review – Members are entitled to an annual review by one of our field agents." 

Join Council 2141

A DRAFT copy of the membership application is included below. If you have any questions, please contact us via email or visited us at Assumption church events.  We have the forms available at our parish breakfasts and other events.  Once completed, you may turn it in to any one of us and we will get it to the Grand Knight.  If you're unsure and would just like more information, please email us and we will get back to you shortly.  Yearly dues are $30.  Once you have registered, we will contact you to schedule a first degree ceremony to attend and this will allow you to join our council.

"Since 1882, membership in the Knights of Columbus has been open to men 18 years of age or older who are "practical" (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See.  Since that time, the Knights of Columbus has understood "practical catholic" to mean a Catholic who accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church."
